“It’s an earthquake, but I have to keep a cool head or my representatives may give up”, received, Friday July 19, Valérie Boismartel, director of the hospital Vendôme (Loir-et-Cher), an establishment built on the former which sits in the center of the city. The evening before, the public prosecutor’s office of Blois announced the indictment of two of its doctors, including the head of emergencies, for acts of sexual and sexual assault and corruption within this profession.
These officers do not have the right to practice within the establishment and are subject to judicial supervision. If the head of emergencies is forbidden to appear in the Loir-et-Cher department, another doctor can continue to practice in the region, as in this medical center in the northern districts of Blois where he practices secretly. A third doctor was accused of sexual assault, but his police custody was lifted for health reasons. “You are already on sick leave”said the director.
It all started in the spring, when a medical worker, a student from Tours, reported a sexual assault to his high school principal. Who reported it to the general director of the regional health agency (ARS), Clara de Bort, who immediately intervened.
Independent administrative investigation
“March 27, Valérie Boismartel explains, I received a letter from the ARS director informing me that a complaint had been made by the general practitioner. The person complained that he was a trauma victim of being touched by a senior staff member in the emergency department, without writing his name. Ms de Bort naturally took the delayed measure of approval to accept interns in this department. »
“Because educational conditions no longer exist and do not meet again”, adds the latter. At her request, Valérie Boismartel launched an independent administrative investigation: she brought together several researchers from outside the hospital and a labor law attorney. At the same time, he sent a report to the Blois prosecutor “in accordance with article 40 of the code of criminal procedure and because these are criminal acts”.
Individual interviews, away from the hospital, took place once a month. At least 11 women reported ongoing sexual assault and harassment, bullying and harassment, sometimes lasting several years. The anonymous report was sent in mid-June to the Blois prosecutor who will immediately increase his investigation. Judicial police officers will receive eight complaints.
