The Versilia of Marianna Ginori Lisci is the new meeting with the characters of the past who have brought the Versilia land to the forefront throughout its history. The event is scheduled for Friday 20 September at 5:30 pm in the Winter Garden of Villa Bertelli in Forte dei Marmi and is curated by Domenico Savini, professor of History of the great families. Born from the illustrious Florentine family of Ginori Lisci – Prof. Savini previews – Marianna married Count Digerini Nuti of Pietrasanta. Having noticed that among her husband’s properties there was a vast plot of uncultivated and unhealthy land, with true entrepreneurial spirit, rare in a woman of the time, she decided to plant a forest of pines and holm oaks. She built a villa on the sea, the Versiliana and was the first to understand that the beauty of the place would increase tourism. Her literary salon, frequented among others by Gabriele D’Annunzio and Giacomo Puccini, made these places what later became one of the most famous tourist agglomerations in Italy. Free entry.
