The clash between Atalanta and Como in the fifth round of the Italian Championship, which was set to take place on Monday (23) at 15:45 (Brasilia time), was postponed due to a strong storm that hit the city of Bergamo. The match has been rescheduled for Tuesday (24) at 16:45 (Brasilia time).

Before deciding on the postponement of the game, referee Paride Tremolada conducted at least three inspections of the pitch conditions, which were affected by the rain. Initially, the match was delayed by 30 minutes. After the second inspection, the waiting period was extended by another half hour.
After the third inspection, the officiating team spoke with the captains of both teams and the postponement of the match was decided. It is worth mentioning that the rain did not stop during the waiting period, which prevented an improvement in the pitch conditions, the main hurdle for the match to take place.
For Atalanta, the match would have been an opportunity to catch up with the competition leaders. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team has six points from four matches (two wins and two losses) and currently occupies the 9th position in the table.
Como, on the other hand, is yet to win in the competition. The team managed by Cesc Fàbregas has only two points from four matches and is placed second to last in the standings.
