The distinguished Greek doctor and former professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the Greek Academy of Sciences, Athina Linou, enters the battle of the elections, with Alexis Tsipras announcing her candidacy.
The rumor of Mrs. Linou’s collaboration with SYRIZA has been circulating for days and today it was made official through a post by the official opposition leader on social media.
The announcement of Alexis Tsipras states:
Athena Linou has a long scientific history.
A graduate of the School of Medicine of the University of Athens and the School of Public Health of the Harvard University, he holds a Doctoral Degree in Epidemiology from the University of Athens.
He has held tenured academic positions and has taught Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, and Occupational Medicine at Mayo Graduate School, University of Minnesota School of Public Health, and Case Western Reserve University. Since 2004 she has been a Professor at the Medical School of the University of Athens and President of the Prolepsis Institute of Preventive, Environmental and Occupational Medicine.
