Speaking about this, fashion designer Anamika said, “About 15 years ago, swatches and inspirations from the 19th century were taken and revived to create this Anarkali. The royal families of Rajasthan were known to adorn dresses with kota embroidery in pure cotton. Taking this inspiration, we sourced a 200 count cotton muslin woven by the artisans of Fulia, Bengal. Only a few are left to carry on this legacy. The intricate hand embroidery, which took almost 2000 hours, was done using the ancient technique of crushing and folding the gotha by hand to create these mango motifs.” Said that.
