San Salvador. Around 100 athletes joined last Saturday the 2023 Recyclathon sponsored by various companies and in which the community was also involved, sources from the El Salvador Olympic Committee (COES) reported.
“We are in favor of holding this type of events, because we know that if we do not act now, later it will be too late,” said Claudia de Hernández, vice president of COES, when addressing the participants.
The Reciclathon 2023 was an event in which athletes from the Salvadoran Federation of Lima Lama participated with inspiring demonstrations, supporting the environmental cause. There were also conversations with prominent sports champions such as Andrea Ruiz (karate), Tatiana Hernández (gymnastics), and Adriana Escobar (Rowing), who shared their experiences and reflections on their sports careers, their medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 and about the importance of caring for the environment and its impact on sport.
