(ANSA-AFP) – ROME, JUN 19 – The reigning Olympic champion, the American Ryan Crouser, has set the new world record in shot put with a measure of 23.37 meters during the American trials for the Olympic Tokyo, underway in Eugene, Oregon. 31-year-old Crouser, who obviously qualified for the Games, thus took away the primacy of fellow countryman Randy Barnes, who set the world record in 1990 with a throw of 23.12 meters.
