Atina Tošić, the daughter of singer Jelena Karleuša and former footballer Duško Tošić, has moved to Milan to begin higher education. While public speculation has swirled around high tuition costs and luxury accommodations, her family has clarified that she shares an apartment with a roommate and travels to classes by bicycle.
Tuition Estimates and Living Expenses in Milan
The move to Italy’s fashion capital has drawn considerable attention across regional media outlets. Although the exact study program remains unspecified by the family, reports have mentioned that the program lasts three years and carries 180 ECTS credits. While some media have speculated that the family has set aside 90,000 euros for tuition, this amount has not been officially confirmed by the singer. Atina’s mother, Jelena Karleuša, traveled with her to Milan in early October to search for an apartment and help settle her into the city before classes began.
Speculation regarding luxurious real estate in the city center was directly addressed by family statements. Rather than purchasing property, the household opted for a rental where expenses are split with a peer. Regional reporting has noted claims that the monthly rent for the apartment is 5,000 euros. Photographs shared from the residence reveal a modern interior featuring an oversized mirror and carefully selected furniture pieces.
Shared Student Life with Daria Šarić
Atina is not navigating the transition to independent living alone. Her roommate and close companion in Milan is Daria Šarić, the daughter of Svetlana Dimitrić Šarić and businessman Darko Šarić as reported by regional news platforms. The two were inseparable during their time together at a private secondary school in Belgrade and chose to enroll in the same faculty abroad.
Their established friendship from Serbia has provided a support system as they adapt to student responsibilities in a foreign country. Beyond academic schedules, the two share extracurricular routines around the city while maintaining active social media profiles highlighting their fashion interests. The families share a long-standing closeness, with the Šarić family having previously attended Atina’s 18th birthday celebration.
Public Statements on Finances and Personal Safety
Addressing misconceptions about extreme wealth and real estate purchases, Jelena Karleuša spoke directly about the financial arrangements during an appearance on a podcast titled Estradni leksikon
.

She has a roommate she splits apartment costs with. We rented an apartment, we didn't buy one—we aren't going to lie to the public, because where would we get that kind of money?
Jelena Karleuša told Informer.
The singer emphasized that despite the family’s public profile, her daughter maintains a grounded daily routine. She noted that Atina travels to her university classes by bicycle. Karleuša also praised her daughter’s distinct personal taste, describing her as refined and classy, and noted that Atina already possesses a strong sense of style and talent for commenting on outfits.

At the same time, the family transition has brought expressed anxieties regarding broader social conditions in Europe. Karleuša voiced deep concerns about youth safety abroad amid changing cultural and institutional norms.
“I’m very scared! I think the situation in Europe has gotten out of hand. The fact that we no longer have clear distinctions—neither in gender nor in race… nor in any kind of orientation, that you can be a cat and a dog if you want to—I don’t like that,” according to Republika, Jelena Karleuša said.
