Sabarmati: A team of Uttar Pradesh Police is taking gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed to Prayagraj from Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, amid tight security arrangements. Ahmed, a former Samajwadi Party leader, will be produced in a court in Prayagraj to pronounce judgment on March 28 in a kidnapping case in which he is an accused. In the video shared by news agency ANI, Ahmed can be seen wearing the white gamcha that has become Atiq’s signature. Ahmed has been lodged in Sabarmati Jail since June 2019, where he was transferred from his home state in April of the same year as per the order of the Supreme Court.
