Time.news – Atlantia has signed with the Siemens Group the contract for the purchase of the company Yunex Traffic, for a consideration of 950 million euros (Enterprise Value), based on financial resources already available.

The formalization, a note reports, takes place at the conclusion of a competitive process initiated in recent months by Siemens, in which the new Atlantia was a winner over numerous international competitors.

Yunex Traffic, headquartered in Munich, is one of the most important global operators active in the innovative sector of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Smart Mobility.

Its infrastructures and platforms for managing traffic flows and urban mobility are used in over 600 cities and on 4 continents (Europe, the Americas, Asia, Oceania).

The signing of the acquisition contract, the press release continues, represents a strategic step in the implementation of Atlantia’s development guidelines already announced in June 2021, which envisage investments in the core sectors in which the company is a leader (motorways, airports, mobility digital payments), as well as in new adjacent and synergistic areas: Intelligent Transport Systems, Electrification / Renewables, Rail and Mobility Hubs.

The closing of the transaction – whose only condition precedent is relative to obtaining the consents / authorizations from the competent Antitrust and FDI (Foreign Direct Investments) Authorities – is expected by September 2022.

“With the entry of Yunex Traffic into our Group – said the ceo of Atlantia Carlo Bertazzo – we will do a significant step forward in expanding our business. Infrastructure management – he continued – is now strongly connected to innovation and sustainable mobility. This is why we will work to activate industrial and development synergies between our assets and Yunex Traffic, with the aim of forming a highly competitive and pioneering Group 2 of its kind, capable of synergistically managing infrastructures, services and technological innovation, to improve the travel experience.

We want to provide solutions and answers to the new mobility needs that are emerging and the new behaviors that are increasingly characterizing the population at a global level. We are pleased that Siemens, one of the most important technological companies in the world, has considered the Atlantia project as the most strategic for the growth of Yunex Traffic. Pending the technical deadlines for formal closing, I would like to immediately welcome Yunex Traffic, the company’s management team and its 3,000 workers to our Group, with whom we will continue to build the new Atlantia. A great reality with head and heart in Europe, but whose market horizon is global “.

“Joining the Atlantia Group is a key growth opportunity for Yunex Traffic“, said the CEO of the company Markus Schlitt.

“We will have the opportunity – he continued – to create synergies with the Group companies that manage important motorway and airport assets and advanced mobility services for infrastructures at European and international level. With our products and services, but also with our deep-rooted presence in hundreds of large urban centers around the world, we can make a significant contribution and generate added value for the Group, developing new solutions that allow people to move more easily. and safety at every stage of their journey. We are thrilled to be able to achieve all this by joining the Atlantia Group, which considers sustainable mobility and innovation fundamental elements of its business “.
