Atlético Nacional and Once Caldas tied 1-1 at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, which was once again closed to the public due to Dimayor’s sanction, in a game valid for the third date of the BetPlay 2024-I League. Álvaro Angulo opened the scoring for the locals, while Dayro Moreno equalized the match from the penalty spot.
Even match in the first half
Those led by John Jairo Bodmer came out from the first minute to impose conditions and quickly took the lead. At minute 3 came the first goal at the Atanasio Girardot after a great association play on the left side. Daniel Mantilla received a filtered pass, reached the baseline and sent a precise cross that Álvaro Angulo connected and with a header to the ground he beat goalkeeper James Aguirre who remained static.
Once Caldas woke up and through Esteban Beltrán had its first approach with a shot that Harlem Castillo saved by sending the ball to the corner kick. From that corner came the play in which the visitors tied the game. The central judge, after having reviewed the VAR, declared a penalty for a foul by Felipe Aguirre on Jeider Riquett. Dayro Moreno asked for the ball and safely charged to the right post of Chipi Chipi, who did not guess the direction and went to the opposite side. 219 goals scored by the scorer in the FPC.
The match remained even, however, as the minutes passed, Atlético Nacional tilted the field and took the game to the opposite field. The greens tried to go into halftime with the lead, but they did not have the necessary effectiveness to achieve the second. Carlos Sierra had one of the clearest chances with a shot that went wide.
Second half with more intensity
Things changed for the second half and the match increased in intensity and emotions. Atlético Nacional maintained its game idea, but did not have the necessary clarity to generate danger from three quarters of the field forward, while Once Caldas improved and arrived with more insistence at the goal guarded by Harlem Castillo. However, the lack of effectiveness prevented him from reaching the second goal.
One of the clearest of the complement came in the 71st minute. Dorlan Pabón, who had entered at halftime, received a filtered pass from Eric Ramírez and took a powerful shot that hit the outside of the goal. A minute later, the green warned again after a corner kick that Carlos Sierra connected, demanding goalkeeper James Aguirre who sent the ball to the side.
With this result, both Atlético Nacional and Once Caldas reached four points after one game won, one tied and one lost, occupying positions 12 and 10, respectively. On the next day, the greens will face Águilas Doradas, while the whites will face La Equidad.
