Real Madrid drew 1-1 this Sunday against Atlético de Madrid, a match valid for Matchday 23 of LaLiga, a clash that the visitor managed to tie in stoppage time.
A goal by Brahim Díaz in the 20th minute of the game, collecting a ball inside the area after a bad clearance by Koke, was enough for the locals to win at half-time at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
Brahim entered the starting eleven at the last minute, after the Brazilian Vinícius Junior felt cervical problems during the warm-up, which relegated him to the bench.
However, in the last play of the match, Marcos Llorente, who came from the merengue youth team, scored the equalizer with a header. A forward cross from Savic was headed in by Memphis Depay and Llorente tied the score just seconds before the end of the match.
With the tie, Real Madrid reached 58 points, 10 more than the Colchoneros and 8 more than Barcelona, which are fourth and third in LaLiga, respectively.
On the next matchday, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will host Girona on February 10, their main second team, who are barely two points ahead of them.
