Jean-Bouin is going to take up American football. A week after saying goodbye until next season to its rugby players from the Stade Français, the stadium in the 16th arrondissement of Paris is shifting into a completely different universe. The enclosure will host the first home game in the history of the Musketeers, the only French American football franchise involved in the EFL, a European league founded in 2021.

After having played and won their first match on Saturday June 3 in Cologne (17-24), the Parisians remain in the Franco-German confrontation with this reception of the Stuttgart Surge on Saturday (kick-off 5 p.m.). But whatever the opponent, the very young team is above all in operation to seduce potential supporters for this season which will last until September.

“At the Super Bowl, we remember that Rihanna was there”

“We want to make our matches meetings, to show that we can play American football in the French way and that we can offer a quality show, underlines Marc-Angelo Soumah, media figure of the discipline in the Hexagon and general manager of the Musketeers. We are convinced that there is a demanding public: those who are passionate about this sport, but also those who are interested in other American sports. »

The club has therefore decided, for each of the six home games of the season, to try to raise the sauce around the match. The festivities will begin at 3 p.m., with a DJ, two animators, dancers, and even cheerleaders. Make-up workshops are planned for children, while the French American football federation will offer spectators an introduction to the flag, a version of the discipline devoid of contact.

General public seats from 21 euros

“It’s a sport linked to the spectacle that surrounds it. At the Super Bowl, we remember that Rihanna performed the halftime concert, but can everyone say who won the match? The idea is to keep this spirit, but doing it the Parisian way. We can highlight fashion, for example. We want people to have a good time and want to come back. »

The price of an afternoon in this atmosphere? The cheapest tickets for the general public are 21 euros, with a reduced price of 16 euros for children, students and seniors. Licensees of the French American Football Federation also benefit from a 20% reduction. Rates that the Musketeers justify by all the festivities offered to spectators.

The franchise expects up to 5,000 spectators on Saturday against Stuttgart. A crowd that it intends to increase in a stadium where two out of four stands are open for sale for the moment.
