Atrokpo launches the construction of 17 classrooms

The mayor of the commune of Cotonou, Luc Setondji Atrokpo, proceeded, on Friday, May 26, 2023, to the delivery of sites for the construction of several classroom modules in five nursery and primary schools in the city of Cotonou. It was in the presence of Heads of arrondissements, Heads of neighborhoods, heads of schools, service providers and populations. This act by Mayor Luc Setondji Atrokpo and the Municipal Council of Cotonou aims to improve the working conditions of learners and teachers in the city.

A total of 17 classrooms with offices and stores will be built to strengthen school infrastructure in the 13e district of Cotonou. The schools that have benefited from this initiative are: the public primary school of Ahogbohouè, the public primary school of Agla-Centre and the public primary school of Agla-Nord. They will each benefit from a module of three classrooms plus an office and stores. A module of two classrooms plus office and stores will be built at Yolomahuto kindergarten and finally, the public primary school of Agongbomey will benefit from a module of six classrooms in R+1 plus office and stores. For the mayor, “these new infrastructure constructions will contribute not only to improving working conditions for learners and teachers, but also to beautify the city of Cotonou”.

The municipal delegation that handed over the sites was made up of the third deputy mayor, Irène Françoise Béhanzin, and the Executive Secretary, Ange Paterne Amoussouga.
