Colombo (News 1st) Seven fishermen targeted in Talaimannar have been admitted to hospital.
The fishermen who were the target of the attack have been admitted to Pesalai Hospital, police said.
The fishermen at the hospital have told the police that they were attacked by the Sri Lankan Navy in Talaimannar yesterday.
The fishermen from Pesalai were attacked and admitted to hospital.
The officer-in-charge of the Pesalai police station said that the Chief Minister would inform the police about the incident.
When inquired by the Sri Lankan Navy on the matter, Navy spokesman Captain Indika de Silva said that no information about the incident had been reported to the Navy Headquarters so far.
However, he said he was investigating the matter.
