After a seven-year break, “The Duel for Money” is back. The comeback is being celebrated on Joyn. This brings back memories of the RTL strategy.

Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf are bringing back a game show from their “Circus HalliGalli” days. The spin-off “Das Duell um die Geld”, which ran on the late-night show between 2015 and 2017, is celebrating a comeback after seven years. Together with quizmaster Oliver Kalkofe, who also took on this job back then, the two presenters will spend quiz poker evenings with celebrity guests in eight new episodes.

The streaming service Joyn has now announced which stars will be taking part. Rapper Sido, “World Wide Wohnzimmer” twin Dennis Wolter and presenter Hadnet Tesfai will compete in episode one. In the second episode, musician Shirin David, fellow rapper Ski Aggu and actress Jessica Schwarz will take a seat at the poker table.

“The Duel for Money” is a mixture of quiz and poker. “At the gaming table, people talk, strategize and play poker for the right answers to quiz questions,” says the announcement. After each question, Winterscheidt, Heufer-Umlauf and the guests bet on the presumed correct answer under the direction of Oliver Kalkofe. The candidates from film, television and music were able to win a jackpot of 6,000 euros.

Now the new edition of “The Duel for Money” is to be shown every Monday in double episodes on the streaming portal Joyn from November 4th. This streaming venture is a little reminiscent of what RTL is currently doing with Stefan Raab. There was a comeback there too, but there too it was decided to only show it on the in-house video-on-demand portal and not on TV. The show “You won’t win the million here” on RTL+ is also a mixture of game and quiz format.

The difference: Raab has not had any prominent guests so far. “The Duel for Money” will feature names such as Palina Rojinski, Nilam Farooq, Edin Hasanovic and Hazel Brugger in the following episodes. Also on the guest list: Till Reiners, Michi Beck, Sasha, Nikeata Thompson, Micky Beisenherz and Steven Gätjen, presenter Jeannine Michaelsen, author Sophie Passmann, author Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre and entertainer Riccardo Simonetti.
