Armed subjects attacked a primary school of the Triqui community in Oaxaca, while a meeting was being held with teachers and parents.
According to the Human Rights Center “Zeferino Ladrillero” The attack was recorded at 2:00 p.m. on September 3 in the Yosoyuxi Copala Indigenous Primary School, Santiago Juxtlahuacalocated in the state of Oaxaca.
The organization said that at the time of the attack, a meeting was being held with teachers, parents and students of the elementary school, but fortunately there were no injuries or fatalities.

Videos and images of the moment when people present at the primary school threw themselves to the ground to protect themselves from the armed attack that can be heard in the background of the clips were spread through social media.
The “Zeferino Ladrillero” Human Rights Center added that since July of this year:
“A member of the group was killed Triqui Independent Unification and Struggle Movement (MULTI) in the same region, preceded by numerous attacks with firearms that have resulted in the deprivation of life of various people belonging to the Triqui community that lives in Oaxaca and the Triqui migrant population that lives in San Quintin, Baja California”.
In addition, the institution points out that the recent attack on the primary school is part of a “process that began on December 26, 2020, at which time a group of heavily armed people began the internal forced displacement of approximately 144 Triqui families from the community of White Land Copala”.

Finally, they called on local, state and federal authorities to guarantee the life, liberty, integrity and property of the inhabitants of the Triqui community and the region in Oaxaca.
