Government spokesperson Prisca Thevenot and her staff were victims of an attack during an election poster sticking operation on Wednesday 3 July.

On Wednesday 3 July, Prisca Thevenot, government spokesperson and candidate for re-election in the legislative elections, put up posters with her team in the working-class neighborhood of Meudon (Hauts-de-Seine). According to his account, the Minister reprimanded about fifteen young people who were making distance on posters. She and her team would then be given to the task. They allegedly received several punches and hit a scooter.

Avedik Batikian, a city councillor, filmed the escape of the attackers from their balcony. Prisca Thevenot is not injured, but her representative is injured in the arm and leg. A Macron activist broke his hostage. Four people, including three minors, were taken into custody at Meudon police station. The Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into violence committed during a meeting against public officials.
