Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the quality of life of the people of Bangladesh has improved, how high our economy has risen and it seems nothing else to paralyze the economy of Bangladesh and make Bangladesh a nation of beggars again. This is probably the conspiracy behind it. That is the saddest thing.

On Saturday (July 27) morning, the Prime Minister visited the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) hospital and said this. There he spoke to some seriously injured patients and inquired about their treatment. The Prime Minister assured all assistance to ensure proper treatment of the injured.

The Prime Minister said, ‘What crime did I do? Is this my crime, I worked to improve people’s quality of life. And those places must be attacked.’

He said, ‘today so many people’s lives have been lost, so many families have been lost, whose responsibility is it? They have to be judged by the people of this country.’

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘When I worked tirelessly day and night, I brought Bangladesh to a place. Look there, burn everything, just the institutions that serve people there.’

Asking for the people’s cooperation, the Prime Minister said, ‘Today, people could reach their workplace in a short time by metro rail and return again. Those stations were burnt and now there is traffic jam, suffering of people. I have eased the suffering. But the people of this country will have to judge those who burnt people in this way and made them suffer again. I just want everyone’s cooperation.’

He said, ‘Is it my crime that I have worked to improve the quality of life of people. And those places must be attacked!’

Who is responsible for the loss of life and property?
Questioning who is responsible for the loss of life and property in the recent conflict, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘I have canceled the quota. Be patient, I urged. The hearing will be held in the High Court, the judgment given by the High Court. Even then, this movement, today, so many people’s lives have been lost, so many families have been lost. Whose responsibility is it? I will make that call to the countrymen. This kind of destruction, no one else can do with this country. I want everyone’s help.’

‘I don’t want any mother’s arms to be empty like this’

An emotional Sheikh Hasina said, wishing for the salvation of the souls of those who died in the conflict, ‘I don’t want my mother’s lap to be empty like this. Because I have lost all my parents, I know the pain of loss.’

The Prime Minister said, ‘I came back with the pain (of losing a relative) for the people of this country. I have no demand here. I did not do anything for my children. Only their education, self-employment, self-education, how much I have been able to do. But I did it for the people of the country.’

He said, ‘Today at least I was providing people with food and clothing, medical treatment, and their work resources. When we got the status of a developing country, this violence hit the places where people are served.’

The government will do everything to treat the injured

The Prime Minister said, ‘All those who are injured are being treated properly. We will do whatever is needed for treatment, we are doing it.’

Regarding those who have been paralyzed, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Those who have lost their legs and hands, we will arrange artificial legs. So that they can walk like healthy people again, can do their own work.’

Regarding the program of anti-discrimination student movement on various demands, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Complete shutdown of the quota agitators and its result is the situation today. After accepting all the demands they no longer end that shutdown. I don’t understand why. We have accepted the full demand.’

He said, ‘If you accept one, then another, if you accept another, then another. Today, the result of this will be burnt and scattered in all directions. And how many people lost their lives today. How many people are becoming crippled.’
