Palakkad: The superintendent of Kottathara hospital strongly disagreed with the health minister’s visit to Attappadi. Dr. Prabhudas alleged that he was deliberately left out. He was summoned to Thiruvananthapuram on the pretext of missing a meeting. Top officials in the health department are behind this. The Health Minister may be in a hurry to reach Attappady before the Leader of the Opposition. The move is to make him corrupt without listening to what he has to say. Prabhudas said he was happy with the development of Kottathara Hospital, even if he was replaced.
For so long he has come directly to such neglect and exclusion. There are a number of issues, including staff shortages in Kottathara. I have to tell myself what I need to explain in such matters. He said he had all the documents in his hand and was therefore not afraid.
The minister climbed the pass after calling Kottathara Tribal Specialty Hospital Superintendent Dr Prabhudas for a meeting in Thiruvananthapuram. He visited Kottathara Tribal Hospital after visiting Agali Community Health Center. Last February, he bought furniture worth Rs 32 lakh, but it was left unused. Ambulances will be on duty at the hospital. Runners do not have adequate life support systems. The Health Minister arrived in Attappady to inspect the situation after the Health Department reported that 191 tribal pregnant women in Attappady were in the high risk category.
The Minister said
Adivasis will be treated in Attappady itself. Newborn ICU will be started soon at Kottathara Tribal Specialty Hospital. The minister said action would be taken on complaints received about the hospital. It was released yesterday that the equipment purchased for the maternal and child ward at Kottathara hospital for Rs 32 lakh was piled up in the hospital.
