Pala: A woman has been arrested for trying to endanger her husband by constantly mixing drugs in food and water. Asha Suresh was arrested from Palakkad Sathimandiram house in Pala Meenachil. Satheesh, 38, a native of Thiruvananthapuram and now a resident of Pala, had approached the police on Thursday with a complaint. The Pala police, which was investigating the complaint, received shocking information.
In 2006, a young man from Chirayinkeezhu, Thiruvananthapuram married a woman from Pala Murikumpuzha. Then in 2008 the young man settled in his wife’s house in Murikumpuzha and started his own distribution company, a leading ice cream company. In 2012, they bought their own house in Palakkad and moved there. According to the young man, after a few years of marriage, his wife used to quarrel over trivial matters.
The complainant was seeing a doctor due to the constant tiredness the young man was experiencing. He took the medicine thinking that it might be due to low blood sugar but it did not decrease. However, in the month of September 2021, when he did not eat at home for 20 days and did not feel tired, he felt no doubt that led to this case.
The young man talked to his wife’s friend about it and asked her if he could give her any medicine. According to a friend, the woman had been adding anti – mental illness drugs to her diet daily since 2015. The wife also sent a photo of the drug to a friend on WhatsApp. The husband then lodged a complaint with the police chief, including CCTV footage.
The district police chief forwarded the complaint to Pala DySP Shaju Jose. The woman was then arrested.
Led by Pala DYSP Shaju Jose, Pala SHOKP Thomson, SA Abhilash MD, ASA Jojan Senior Civil Police Officer Sumesh and Women Police under the direction of District Police Chief. The woman was arrested by Binumol and Lakshmi Remya.
