Kuwait City: Coast Guard officials foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotic drugs into Kuwait by sea. The narcotic drug was discovered after the Maritime Security Administration informed that narcotic drugs from neighboring countries were stored under the sea.

The officials arrested the accused who came from abroad on the boat to take back the drugs. 49 types of different drugs were seized. The accused were caught using the GPS tracking system. The arrested persons and the seized items were handed over to the concerned departments for further legal action.

A few days ago, the security forces foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of liquor into Kuwait. Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident. More than 18,000 bottles of liquor in three containers were tried to be brought through the land border of the country.

The liquor bottles were hidden in large containers that were carrying items including cables and batteries so as not to be immediately noticed. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait on social media, these goods arrived from two Gulf countries.
