Attempted murder of a 4-year-old boy in Ramot neighborhood in the city. At 10:47 a report was received at MDA’s 101 hotline in the Jerusalem area about an unconscious child at home after his relative in his 20s is suspected of having strangled the child. The attacker, apparently traumatized, was arrested and at this time was being questioned at the police station. Medics and paramedics of MDA provided medical treatment and evacuated the child to Shaare Zedek Hospital. The child was in critical condition while CPR was being performed. From a preliminary investigation it is suspected that during the morning several family members were in the apartment and at a certain point they noticed that the victim was not answering their calls. The father of the family was called from the synagogue as a result and after a while when they noticed that the door of the suspect’s room was locked, they broke the door of the room and found the victim lying on the floor and as mentioned policemen who arrived on the scene arrested the suspect.

MDA senior medic Ziad Daviat and MDA paramedic Siglit Mizrahi said: “When we arrived at the house, we saw the boy who was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing. We performed advanced and prolonged resuscitation on him, which included breathing, massages and administering medication. During the evacuation to the hospital, we continued the CPR until his heart started beating again.”
