Muscat: The Royal Oman Police arrested four people who tried to smuggle drugs into Oman. According to a statement issued by the Royal Oman Police, the four are of Asian origin.

The Royal Oman Police has arrested four suspected Asian nationals for attempting to smuggle 79 kilograms of crystal narcotics. The four persons were arrested by the General Administration Department for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in collaboration with the Oman Coast Guard Police.

A few days ago, a large quantity of alcohol was seized from the residence of expatriates in Oman. Officers of Investigation and Risk Assessment Department under Oman Customs found that expatriates were storing alcohol in the residence at Seeb Vilayam.

Meanwhile, customs foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of liquor into Oman. The incident took place in Musandam Governorate. Liquor was smuggled in a fishing boat. According to the statement released by the authorities, the customs found it in cooperation with the Coast Guard and foiled the smuggling attempt.

Inspections to detect residential violators; 10 expatriates arrested

Muscat Municipality has closed two shops after finding violations in restaurants and cafes in Matra. The inspection was conducted by the officials of the Food Control Department. Out of 51 establishments inspected, 13 establishments were issued show cause notices. 92 kg of stale food was seized from 16 establishments and destroyed. 104 unfit cooking utensils were also seized.
