Attempts to join two European clubs failed; Ronaldo threatened the agent; Report

After leaving Manchester United, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo tried to join one of the European clubs, but the result was disappointing.

After his relegation at United, Rono reportedly threatened his agent, Jorge Mendes, when his desire to sign for Bayern Munich or Chelsea fell through.

According to a report by Spanish media outlet El Mundo, Rono threatened the agent to sever ties if one of the two clubs did not agree to sign him.

Mendes made several attempts but neither Chelsea nor Bayern Munich were ready to accept Ronaldo, according to the report.

Chelsea owner Todd Boley was initially interested in signing Ronaldo, but later backed out citing the player’s age and disciplinary problems at Old Trafford.

Concerns over whether Ronaldo would agree to Graham Porter’s terms at Stamford Bridge also prompted the Chelsea owner to back away from the decision.

Bayern Munich decided not to sign free agent Ronaldo after leaving Manchester United. Bayern CEO Oliver Khan has said that they like Ronaldo but cannot sign him due to the club’s rules.

When he could not stay in Europe according to his wish, Ronaldo moved to the Saudi Arabian club Al Nasser.

Al Nasser signed Ronaldo on a two-year deal, the highest salary ever paid to a footballer in the world.
