Attention Airtel customers.. 57% increase in minimum recharge fee!

Airtel, India’s 2nd largest telecom operator, has announced a 57 percent hike in its minimum recharge plan from Rs 99 to Rs 155.

The fare hike was initially implemented on a trial basis only in the states of Odisha and Haryana.

The Rs 99 recharge plan offered a call rate of 2.5 paise per second and 200 MB of internet data for 28 days.

Now after increasing it to Rs 155, 1 GB internet data, unlimited voice calls, 300 free SMS etc. will be offered.

It is said that soon this 155 rupees recharge scheme will be implemented across the country. The Rs 99 recharge plan has come in a big way for those who don’t have a smartphone and have been using Airtel as their second number.

Currently Airtel’s average revenue per user is Rs 190. Airtel’s revenue is expected to rise to Rs 205 crore with the current fare hike.

Airtel had 28.4 crore customers in 2020. In the year 2022, the same has increased to 32.6 crores.

Rival Jio has 42.23 crore customers. The average revenue per user is Rs 177.2.
