A substantial improvement in the audiovisual room of School D-37 República de Bolivia was achieved thanks to the Minera El Abra School Fund. With this award, this space was reopened, which now has a sound table, speakers, a Smart TV, microphones, air conditioning, among other improvements that support the quality of learning at the establishment.

The project will improve and update auditory and visual technological tools, which will be used in classes and meetings. This will benefit all the teachers, the almost 1,000 students and the 180 parents who will participate in different workshops held in this place.

Patricio Angulo, director of the establishment, highlighted the opportunity. “We are grateful as a community to Minera El Abra for its track record in supporting these initiatives, which give opportunities to our public schools that have made great progress, but it is always necessary to be at the technological forefront. The space serves for planning, projection of classes, for audiovisual activities, in a clean, orderly, air-conditioned and dignified environment as appropriate,” he said.

The space motivates and stimulates the students as highlighted by Dániza Vega, teacher of Natural Sciences. «It is essential, because public schools have very few technology resources. It is important for the teaching and learning process that they can touch and have a more real experience. “It is a great advance for the entire educational unit,” she noted.

The initiative allowed us to join forces with the COMDES Calama Municipal Social Development Corporation, which supported the standardization of the electrical system and installation of the air conditioning acquired with the project.
