Benin celebrates the 63rd anniversary of its accession to independence on August 1 with a rich program of events spanning several days. The military parade on Boulevard de la Marina and the “La Saga des Agodjiés” concert are the two highlights of this celebration.

Bola Tinubu, guest of honor

The cultural component of the national holiday begins this Monday and ends on Friday August 4. After concerts in 11 department capital towns, Cotonou will host the “Saga des Agodjiés”, a gigantic all-female concert headlined by the diva Angelique Kidjo.
