Aura the ‘Spokesbot’ Set to Welcome Guests at the Sphere in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV – The Sphere Las Vegas, known for its impressive LED screens and status as Earth’s largest sphere, is taking its futuristic experience to the next level with the introduction of Aura, an advanced humanoid robot. Aura will serve as the official “spokesbot” for the venue, greeting and interacting with guests.

The announcement was made by Sphere Entertainment, the company behind the MSG Sphere, which revealed that five Aura robots will be located at the venue’s grand atrium, ready to welcome guests as they enter. According to MSG Ventures CEO David Dibble, the “spokesbots” will not only greet guests but also answer questions, boasting life-like facial expressions and mobility.

“The addition of Aura helps convey the role of technology and science in the human evolution and pursuit,” said Dibble. “Her facial movements and recognition are stunning, and her ability to track and interact with guests is fascinating.”

Unlike traditional fortune-teller robots, Aura is equipped with voice recognition technology, allowing her to focus on one person speaking directly in front of her at a time, even in the presence of multiple people. Additionally, Aura will utilize artificial intelligence to continually advance and learn more about human behavior through guest interactions.

However, the company is taking a cautious approach to AI implementation and will have human lab technicians accompany the robots to ensure a seamless experience for guests. The technicians will help tell the story of humanity’s history of innovation, including the Sphere, and maximize guests’ Sphere Experience.

In addition to greeting and answering questions, Aura will provide directions within the venue, offer details about daily performances, and serve as the brand ambassador for the Sphere, managing digital platforms and social channels.

“Hello, humans. While I understand the most complex concepts of math and science, you remain a mystery,” Aura stated in a press release. “Your emotions, humor, and unique relationship with technology require further study. Visit me at the Sphere, and together, we will explore the future of live entertainment at my new home.”

The creation of each humanoid robot takes three to four months, according to Sphere Entertainment. Aura has been teased on social media platforms and appeared in a commercial during the Academy Awards earlier this year, generating excitement among fans.

The MSG Sphere will officially open to the public on September 29, featuring a series of 25 concerts by U2. The opening shows, titled “U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere,” will run through mid-December, celebrating the band’s iconic 1991 album, “Achtung Baby.”

Additionally, on October 6, the Sphere will debut its immersive 360-degree experience titled “Postcard From Earth.” Directed by Darren Aronofsky, this show will be the first Sphere Experience and promises to transport visitors to different worlds and attractions.

With the addition of Aura and upcoming shows, the MSG Sphere aims to redefine the concept of music venues, offering a truly immersive and transformative entertainment experience for visitors.
