Yet another media battle is the case of Hugo Auradou – Oscar Jegou. Tuesday evening, less than two hours after the arrival of two French rugby players in Buenos Aires from Mendoza, daily Diary Onequickly imitated by the Argentine media, published a series of photos of a 39-year-old woman accused of gang rape.
Photos dated July 7 and taken at the time of the alleged victim’s complaint, on which fifteen wounds are visible, including “a purplish wound measuring 4 cm x 1 cm on the eyelid lower left” or two wounds measuring “2 cm x 1 cm and 1 cm x 1 cm” on the bottom were admitted, according to the conclusions of the forensic report previously presented on July 20.
This leak has pushed Antoine Vey, the French lawyer, to respond this Wednesday to plead “material of the media”. “The photos do not match the events described by the plaintiff, who said that he was repeatedly beaten, killed and dragged to the ground,” said the commission. The latter also insisted that the plaintiff suffered from “Von Willebrand’s disease” (grade 1, the simplest, according to our information) preventing the blood from “clotting properly”.
The accused “corrupted morals”
He also explained that the expert behind the investigator’s report “rejected the possibility that these marks could have been caused by blows, because they are very light and can have many causes, such as cosmetic treatment, dental care or piercing. “
According to the defense, “this presentation, which comes from the plaintiff’s lawyer, is yet another attempt to manipulate public opinion and justice.” Contacted, Natacha Romano, who represents the alleged victim, did not respond to our questions. On Monday, he revealed that his client had attempted suicide three days earlier. This is why he did not go to the final medical tests to be done as part of the psychological and psychological evaluations to be included in the file.
“He is demoralized,” his other counsel, Mauricio Cardello, said on Tuesday, when the accused still did not attend the trials postponed that day. They are also scheduled for this Friday.
The request for withdrawal is considered by September 10
Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou left Mendoza, where they were under house arrest from July 17 to August 12 before they were released on conditions, to fly to Buenos Aires this Tuesday evening. Also charged for the actions which took place in the city in central western Argentina on the night of July 6 to 7, they have recovered their passports but are not prohibited from leaving the South American country and entering into contact with the alleged victim during the investigation. .
On Tuesday morning, their lawyers filed a motion for dismissal after Mendoza’s Attorney General’s Office. This will be examined “within a (extended) period of ten working days” by the courts, the prosecutor said. Or on September 10.
The two rugby players, aged 21, declared their innocence, suggesting a consensual sexual relationship with the accused but denying any form of violence.
