Aurora seen from the other side

The normal thing is to see the auroras from below, but during a space flight it is possible to see them from above. The latter is what happened when the amazing picture shown here was taken. The picture was taken from the International Space Station (ISS) when it flew over the southern Indian Ocean, between Australia and Antarctica, at an altitude of 439 kilometers.
