Melbourne: Australia’s 82-run first innings lead against England in the third Test (Australia vs England 3rd Test). Australia were bowled out for 267, trailing England by 185 runs. James Anderson (four), Oli Robinson (two), Mark Wood (two), Ben Stokes and Jack Leach (two each) kept Australia at bay. Marcus Harris is Australia’s top scorer with a half – century.

Australia started the second day at 61 for one. When the team score reached 76, night watchman Nathan Lyon was run out by Oli Robinson. Australia were under pressure when Marnus Labushein, who is known for his big innings, was dismissed for one and Steve Smith for 16. The hero of the first Test, Dravid Head (27) also did not shine. Returning to form, opener Marcus Harris scored 76 off 189 balls. Harris is Australia’s top scorer.

Cameron Green (17) and Alex Carey (19) were the next to score. Pat Cummins’ 21 and Mitchell Starc’s 24 * at the tail end were crucial for Australia. Scotland were last out for six.

England were 185 not out in the first innings, ahead of Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon, who took three wickets each on the first day. Captain Joe Root was the visitors’ top scorer with 50 runs.
