From Tuesday, February 22, it will be possible to enter Austria if you have a negative PCR test for coronavirus or an antigen test. This rule will also apply to tourists from Russia, the country’s Ministry of Health reported.

As explained to TASS in the department, it will also be possible to enter a person who has been ill or vaccinated with one of the drugs approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the World Health Organization (WHO). “As tests, both PCR tests (the validity period of which should not exceed 72 hours) and antigen tests (should not exceed a maximum of 24 hours) are allowed,” the Ministry of Health said.

Starting this week, the Austrian authorities are starting to phase out the main restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. From Saturday, February 19, those who have been ill and vaccinated, as well as in the presence of a negative PCR, will be able to visit restaurants, check into hotels and go to fitness. From March 5, it is planned to lift restrictions on visiting all public places. The mask regime will remain mandatory only in supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and post offices.
