French actor Alain Delon, who died on Sunday at the age of 88, will be buried midweek at his estate La Brûlerie in the central French village of Douchy. BFMTV reported about it on Monday. According to her, Delon wanted to be buried at home and did not want state honors after his death, which in recent years have been given to the actor Jean-Paul Belmond or the musician Johnny Hallyday.

Delon is to be buried in a narrow circle and his body is to be placed in a specially built chapel next to his numerous dogs.

According to BFMTV, a ceremony will be held later to allow the public to pay their last respects to the actor.

Regional newspaper La République du Center reported that the local prefecture had declared a ban on low-altitude flights over the huge estate in the Centre-Val de Loire region until 10pm on Wednesday for safety reasons. Now many people flock there to lay flowers in front of the entrance gate.

Delon died at his home in Douchy, about 100 kilometers south of Paris. He had been ill in recent years. Politicians led by President Emmanuel Macron and famous actresses Claudia Cardinalová and Brigitte Bardot expressed their sadness at his passing.

Delon, at one time a symbol of male beauty, starred in almost a hundred films, the audience knows him for example from the films Black Tulip, Two Men in the City or Borsalino.
