Authorities from IPN, UNAM and Colbach agree on strategies to combat hooliganism

Members of the Interinstitutional Commission for Prevention and Security IPNUNAMColbach They agreed to create two commissions to carry out tours and intelligence work against the porril groups which they described as “the cancer of public schools.”

The first will be the Executive commissionheaded by the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN)which will be responsible for conducting tours of schools, coordinating communication between schools and the development and implementation of protocols.

The second will be the Analysis Commission headed by the College of Baccalaureates (Colbach) which will be responsible for studying social, economic and cultural factors and proposing preventive actions.

For the moment, the UNAM will be in charge of the Technical secretary which was already established and will have a rotating character.

Between the agreements, obtained at the meeting held at the IPN facilities, the following stand out:

  • The elaboration of a risk map by the IPN for identify to the groups generating violence in each school, as well as their operating centers located in areas close to the schools.
  • Establish coordination with corporations like security secretariatsprosecutors such as the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) and other authorities of Mexico City and the State of Mexico in charge of this area.

  • Trigger improvements in the environment of the schools such as lighting, painting and rehabilitation of spaces in order to recover the places where the thug groups dominate.

To the meeting attended the Secretary of Prevention, Care and Security of the UNAM, Raul Arcenio Aguilar Tamayo; the general secretary of the IPN, Mauricio Igor Jasso Zaranda; the representative of the director general of the College of Bachelors, Adam Escobedo Robles and the Project Coordinator in the General Directorate, Elihu Castle Nasr.
