Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has closed nine branches of the Afghan Brothers, a leading restaurant in Qatar. The move comes amid rising food prices on food delivery platforms. The restaurants have been closed for two weeks.
The ministry tweeted that it had made changes to the restaurant menu by increasing the price of food on food delivery platforms, thereby limiting the opportunity for consumers to choose dishes. The company did not follow the rules and regulations regarding price increase. The statement also said that consumers were being denied opportunities.
Authorities closed the restaurant’s Barwa Village, Al Wakrah, Al Azizia, Al Rayyan, Al Nasr Street, Bin Omran, Airport Street, Umm Salal Mohammed and Al Mirgab branches.
