Muscat: Oman’s Directorate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources seized five fishing boats for allegedly violating the law. The incident took place in the governorate of Al Wusta the previous day.

Directorate officials said the action was taken for violating the country’s fisheries laws. The crew on the boats did not have licenses. Authorities also found that they had violated fishing distances. Authorities said in a statement that legal action was being taken against those arrested.
