Avalanche on Gran Zebrù: former professional cyclist Cavagnis among the victims – Chronicle

BOLZANO. One of the victims of the avalanche on the Gran Zebrù is the former professional cyclist Oscar Cavagnis, 47 years old.

From 1998 to 2002 the Bergamasco from Vertova was a professional, among other things for Saeco and Landbouwkrediet. In 2001 he finished seventh in the third stage of the Paris-Nice, Saint Etienne-Villeneuve Les Avignon of 217.9 kilometers, and in 2002 he participated in the Giro d’Italia with two stages in the top 20.

With him died Fernando Bergamelli, 55 years old from Pradalunga, an expert mountaineer.
