There is a shortage of cow’s milk in Nellie district. What is the reason for this? The officer explained about that.

Milk shortage

Nellai District Aavin Cooperative Milk Producers Union is functioning at Nellai Redyarpatti. It is from here that milk is distributed to Nellai District, Tenkasi District and Tuticorin District.

In this situation, there is a shortage of milk in Nellai district for the past few days. Due to this, it is said that only half the milk is being supplied to the agents and for the last few days, 1 liter packet of milk has not been supplied.

Officer Explanation

An Avin milk official said:-

Nellai and Thoothukudi districts were united and earlier the dairy was operating under the name of Nellai Aavin. At present, Nellai and Thoothukudi are separated separately and Aavin’s dairy farms are operating separately in Nellai and Tuticorin. There was some problem in milk procurement as some measures were taken when the dairy farms were divided like this.

Sales are high

At present, 40 thousand liters of milk is procured in Nellai district and 34 thousand liters in Tuticorin district, a total of 74 thousand liters of milk is procured. But a total of 85 thousand liters of cow milk is sold in Nellai, Tuticorin and Tenkasi districts.

There has been a shortfall of over 10,000 litres. Thus we are taking steps to increase milk procurement.

This is what he said.
