Avika Gor Hospitalised With Dengue After Working Through High Fever

Despite battling a fever of 103–104 degrees for five days, Gor continued to fulfill professional commitments, including a project shoot and an advertisement in Delhi, before her condition worsened and required medical intervention.

The actress’s husband, Milind Chandwani, shared the health update via Instagram on Friday, revealing that Gor had been diagnosed with dengue after a period of severe illness. According to Chandwani, Gor spent five days fighting a high fever but refused to postpone her work, fearing that others would suffer financial losses or wasted time.

Professional Commitments During 104-Degree Fever

The timeline of Gor’s illness highlights a stark contrast between her physical state and her professional output. Chandwani noted that Gor first attended a project where two days of filming remained. Despite her temperature, she performed well enough that the shoot was wrapped in a single day.

“Avika has been in the hospital since last night. She has had a fever of 103–104 degrees for the past five days. And guess what she did during those five days? She first went to a project where two days of shooting were still pending. She performed so well despite having a 104-degree fever that they managed to wrap up the shoot in just one day.”

Following a brief two-day break spent in bed, taking medicines and unable to move or even eat properly, Gor traveled to Delhi to film an advertisement. Chandwani noted that she got herself tested before that trip. A member of her team who accompanied her to the Delhi shoot reported that Gor wasn't able to stand properly and was surviving on ORS because she was unable to eat. It was only after returning to Mumbai and checking her medical reports that the dengue diagnosis was confirmed.

Chandwani revealed that he told Gor many times that the producers would understand and that they could postpone the work. However, she responded, Someone will suffer a loss, someone’s time will be wasted, someone’s money will be lost. I don’t want that. I’ll do as much as I can.

Hospitalisation and Medical Condition

The decision to hospitalise Gor came as her condition deteriorated. Doctors advised immediate admission after the illness left her unable to move or eat on her own. She is currently under observation and receiving necessary medical care.

While Gor’s dedication is being praised by peers—including Ruhaanika Dhawan, who commented, More power to this powerhouse.

“I have never understood where someone gets so much love for their work from. The amount of respect she has for her craft and the value she places on other people’s time and resources, I don’t think many people in this industry do that. Anyway, I request all of you to please keep her in your prayers. I am proud of you, Avika.”
