The domestic auto concern AvtoVAZ has resumed the production of cars of the Lada Granta line of the 2022 model year with airbags, this was reported on the company’s website.

The price of the basic version of Granta, equipped with a driver’s airbag, starts from 602,800 rubles. under the state program of preferential lending, which is valid only until December 1, 2022 (or 753,500 rubles excluding the program),” the statement said.
Now Lada Granta and Lada Niva Legend of the 2022 model year, produced in “simplified” versions, are gradually beginning to be equipped with all the necessary security systems. In particular, the production of vehicles with the Era-Glonass emergency warning system was launched earlier. This feature has not been available to new vehicles since last September due to a shortage of semiconductors.
The company was the first to take advantage of the decision of the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), which was adopted in order to avoid downtime of the largest automakers due to a shortage of microchips. It was assumed that automakers will install emergency call devices in cars no later than June 30, 2022. However, so far there has been no official information on the launch of a recall campaign. In addition, the Granta family was equipped with air conditioning, parking sensors and heated windshields.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ announced plans to launch the production of cars with anti-lock braking system (ABS) from 2023. According to the head of the company Maxim Sokolov, the next option, which will also be returned to the car, will be the ESP lateral stability system, which stabilizes the vehicle when sharp turns and slopes, preventing him from skidding.
