AvtoVAZ stopped installing Era-Glonass on its cars

Since the end of last week, AvtoVAZ has stopped installing Era-Glonass emergency call modules on new cars, the brand dealers interviewed by Vedomosti said. This is due, according to them, to the shortage of microchips from the manufacturers of such modules.

Sources in the companies – dealers of the brand say that AvtoVAZ has already notified the sellers in writing about the need to conclude an additional agreement with customers that Era-Glonass will be installed no later than mid-2022. Vedomosti’s interlocutor in a large regional dealer Lada specifies, that this condition applies to the entire model range of AvtoVAZ. A spokesman for AvtoVAZ declined to comment.
