Commenting that it is very important to boycott the present government, BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said that even though the country became independent in 1971, the people of the country are still not independent. Bangladesh is hanging on the barbed wire fence. Awami League does politics to please India, not the people of the country. Still India cannot sustain this government.

He said, Awami League government is the worst product of India. Boycotting this government is very important, as well as boycotting foreign products.

He made this comment while addressing a discussion meeting titled ‘Foreign aggression towards democracy, freedom, sovereignty, integrity and national dignity’ at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in Segunbagicha of the capital on Thursday (May 9). A section of the People’s Rights Council organized the meeting.

Gayeshwar said, “Democracy will sometimes come, sometimes it will go.” If democracy goes, we have to fight. Then democracy will return. We have to remember though, that anti-aggression is very difficult to fight.

Stating that economists can say that the current economic condition is good, Gayeshwar said that the condition of almost all the banks in the country is pathetic. After a few days there will be no money to pay the workers. They should be paid by selling chairs and tables. If this is the condition of the banks where people keep their money, then imagine the condition of the country’s politics. This government must leave power. India cannot keep them in power.

The meeting was presided over by the convenor of the People’s Rights Council, Mia Mashiuzzaman, former convener of the council, Reza Kibria, chairman of Labor Party, Mustafizur Rahman Iran, member secretary of AB Party, Mujibur Rahman Munju, etc. spoke at the meeting.
