In this sense, Adif has just contracted the supply for the second phase of sleeper renewal for 13.5 million euros. It advances in another strategic area, signaling, deploying the ERTMS level 2 signaling system, the most advanced in the world; and addresses the last phase of the renewal of track circuits.

In recent months, in addition, the first phases of the renovation of sleepers and detours have been completed; the modernization of the line’s nine viaducts in Sierra Morena; and the improvement of the maintenance bases, with that of Calatrava already completed.

The comprehensive renovation of the Madrid-Seville high-speed line affects all areas of the line: infrastructure (viaducts, tunnels, drainage, etc.), tracks (sleepers, ballast and turnouts), signaling, telecommunications, electrification and protection, deploying the latest technologies and equipment.

Currently, 75 percent of the planned actions are underway or completed and almost all of the investment, more than seven hundred million euros, has been mobilized.
