Pollachi: In Pollachi, awareness programs were held regarding the Chess Olympiad. The 44th International Chess Olympiad will be held in Mamallapuram, Chennai from 28th to 10th August. At the international level, 2,000 players from 186 countries are participating in the tournament. The public is being made aware of this. In it, the public is being made aware of the ‘Chess Olympiad’ on behalf of the Pollachi Revenue Department. The surrounding wall of the Sub-Collector’s office is painted black and white like a chess board. Also, ‘Thambi Muscat logo’ was painted near the bus stand. At Pollachi Municipal Boys High School ground, football and kabaddi games were held to create awareness about the Chess Olympiad. Subsequently, badminton matches were held at Makinampatti VIP, Badminton Academy. Sub-Collector Thackeray Subham Gnandev inaugurated the competitions and created awareness.
