In a match valid for the third round of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage, São Paulo drew 0-0 with Tolima this Tuesday (2). The duel was played at Manuel Murillo Toro Stadium, in Ibagué, Colombia.
With the result, Tricolor has seven points in the competition, leading Group D. The next commitment in the continental tournament will be on May 23 (Tuesday), at 9:30 pm, visiting Puerto Cabello in Venezuela.
The clash with Tolima began with Dorival Júnior’s team keeping the ball more and maintaining game volume in the attack. In the defensive sector, the team was little demanded in the initial 45 minutes.
At the beginning of the second half, the Colombians tried to balance the game and attack, while São Paulo continued to fight to open the scoring.
Throughout the final stage, Dorival promoted changes in Tricolor, putting Nestor, Wellington Rato, Juan, Luan and Raí Ramos in the places of Gabriel Neves, Michel Araujo, Luciano, Marcos Paulo and Caio.
The great opportunity of the match came from the feet of Juan, who took advantage of a leftover ball in the area, finished and stopped in the defense of goalkeeper Vargas.
Even with São Paulo pressing until the end, the goalless draw remained on the scoreboard.
