by time news

This Sunday (5), in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo faced Botafogo for the last round of the first phase of the Paulista Championship and won by 3-1, on the comeback, with goals from Luan, Galoppo (penalty) and Juan.

The visitors went to the pitch with Rafael in goal; Nathan, Alan Franco, Pablo Maia and Caio Paulista, in defense; Luan, Rodrigo Nestor, Alisson and Luciano, in midfield; and Wellington Rato and Galoppo, in attack.

Just three minutes into the game, Botafogo opened the scoring with Robinho, in a bid originated after a good defense by Rafael.

São Paulo’s first good chance came in the 23rd minute, when Luan took advantage of the defender’s rebound and hit the goal hard, but the goalkeeper made a good save. Shortly afterwards, Galoppo received a pass from Nathan on the right and finished off a cross, but the opponent’s archer brushed the ball, which was left to Luciano and, after the kick, Matheus Albino’s new defense.

In the second half, as soon as the ball rolled and David almost tied the game: Rodrigo Nestor made a good shot and the striker dominated the area and shot with a trivela, but the ball went out of bounds. Afterwards, Wellington Rato pivoted for the arrival of Rodrigo Nestor who, outside the area, hit a strong left-handed shot on the post!

By insisting so much, at 15 minutes, Tricolor managed to tie the game: Welington advanced to the bottom line, on the left, and crossed into the area. The defense moved away and Luan hit the ball in the chest and, without letting the ball fall, hit a beautiful shot in the left corner of the goalkeeper.

At 25 minutes, Welington again shot from the left until he was brought down by Mantuan, with a cart. The referee scored nothing, but VAR confirmed the penalty for São Paulo. In the collection, Galoppo kicked with confidence and category, displacing the goalkeeper, and turned the game to Tricolor!

Without slowing down, São Paulo soon expanded: Rodrigo Nestor took a corner kick and Juan, with a header, scored the third goal for the visitors! 3 to 1!

As a result, Tricolor finished first in Group B of Paulistão, with 23 points. The club will face, as principal, Agua Santa in the quarterfinals of the competition.
