The Z, as known, refers to the symbol affixed to Putin’s tanks. The title of course was decided before the war. But the director general of the Ukrainian Institute, Volodymir Sheiko, who a conductor, said: We believe that change the title would be a gesture against barbarism, the violence and terror of the Russian army. And the head of the cinema of that institution, Natalie Movshovych, said that the local media have already used the title of the film, publishing articles that could be summarized as: see? They are supporting us. Hence the request for measures to the artistic director of the Cannes Film Festival Thierry Frmaux and to the director, on behalf of all the victims of the Kiev region, Mariupol and Kharkiv.
