VBoard spokesman Axel Hellmann remains after the internal power struggle at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 51-year-old lawyer informed the chairman of the supervisory board, Philip Holzer, on Tuesday morning that he would continue his contractual relationship as planned.

In the past few weeks there has been speculation about Hellmann’s future, who is currently acting as managing director of the German Football League (DFL) on an interim basis until June 30, 2023. Hellmann’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt is valid up to and including June 30, 2027.

“For me it is crucial that we can continue to move a lot at Eintracht Frankfurt. Due to my position as board spokesman, it has been necessary and important in recent weeks to ensure that the club’s development can continue to be vigorously promoted at all levels,” said Hellmann in a statement from the club.

“In the talks with the key decision-makers at Eintracht, I specified my ideas on this and it became clear that everyone wants to create the conditions for our competitiveness and a successful future together,” Hellmann continued. At 12.30 p.m. he will explain his decision at an extraordinary press conference.

“Axel Hellmann’s whereabouts are an important sign for the entire club, but also in the final spurt of the current round with regard to the new season,” said Holzer according to the announcement.

“It’s understandable that he’s been thinking about his future for the past few weeks. In the open and good discussions that we have had over the past few weeks, we have found that different opinions have been cleared up and that there is a good basis for continued successful cooperation.”
