With “Doggy”, Aya Nakamura responds to the criticism she has been subjected to since the rumors about her possible cover of Édith Piaf for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The singer notably received an outpouring of racist hatred on social networks and from the far right, pushing the Minister of Culture Rachida Dati to come to her aid. The organizers of Paris 2024 also said they were “shocked” by the racist attacks targeting the singer, without confirming her arrival.
